Reach designing official city of culture bid

Posted on August 22, 2013

We have been appointed to design Leicester’s bid brochure to become the UK City of Culture 2017

Our team have set to work immediately on designing the city’s final bid document, which must be sent to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport by the end of September.

Working alongside Leicester’s UK City of Culture team our role is to bring Leicester’s bid and our creative theme of ‘Illuminating Culture’ to life, ensuring it outshines the city’s competitors and with detailed plans for the events and activities that could take place during 2017.

Asgoo Pirbhai, Managing Director of Reach Marketing said: “We’re really proud to be involved in Leicester’s bid to be UK City of Culture in 2017.

“We were always backing the bid and now we’re thrilled to be part of the team that’s going to deliver it. As a communications business based in Leicester for the last 20 years, we have been involved in developing many initiatives in the environment, the arts and business that have positioned Leicester as a leader in the UK and beyond.

Winning this bid will enhance the cultural presence that Leicester has on the national stage.”

David Simms, Publisher, Leicester Mercury and City of Culture board member, said: “We are delighted that a local Leicester design agency has been appointed to design the city’s bid brochure to become the UK’s next City of Culture.

“During the appointment process we were impressed by Reach’s innovative approach to the brief and also the company’s deep commitment to their city and its goal to become City of Culture.

“We’re very excited to be working with them on our final submission over the coming weeks.”

Leicester will find out whether its bid has been successful in November. Dundee, Hull and Swansea Bay are the other three cities still in the running for the coveted title.

Look out for our ‘Illuminating Culture’ posters around the city soon!
